Hi, this is my first post on Mantera. I've only looked around a little, and I figured it would be easier to just ask straight out. I love LOMSE. I still play it. But I noticed that everyone here was talking about a mod someone created. I've seen the password request thread and would like to request one, but before I do, I want to know what I'm getting into. What did the mod change, do I have to have the game loaded on my PC, can I take it off, how does it install, etc.
I look forward to playing it.

Mod improves interface, units, artifacts, spells, display panels, and overall playability. The mod is installed manually, with easy instruction. The mod itself has a component (PIC5R2 mod) which adds new spell, artifact and stat icons. Follow instructions to install mod, or uninstall mod. Password request thread is not for the mod, but for the download of the entire game.

So I download the normal game in the thread, then download the mod?

I have been having too much fun with this mod (like staying up till 3am when I should be studying). So I'd recommend it. However, I played only very little of the original game to make the comparison between the two. But I just can't imagine how a person wouldn't like the mod if they liked the original, since the changes are gameplay improvements that do not essentially change the game.
There are also great new maps if you are bored with the original map.
All worth a bit of time investment I think.
