Hey mantera, I just downloaded your mod yesterday and was all excited to try it out but it didnt work for some reason! I followed the steps and somehow it doesnt seem to work, here's what I did. I downloaded GS5R2 mod and PIC5R2, I renamed both of those files gs.mpq and pic.mpq after renaming the original ones to something else. I put the 4 new maps in the maps folder, I then load the game. The 4 maps are there, I notice the intro video is removed so I thought it was working, but I create a new game and the content isnt changed. Im not sure what to do, I tried looking in the readme files and cant sem to find a solution Am I doing something wrong? [By the way] I dont know if it matters but I had a couple saved games before installing the mod. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I want o play this mod! thanks! This is clearly not a GS5R2 Bug report, but I'll help anyway. Are you using LOMSE or LOM? If you're loading saves games created prior the GS5R2 mod, you'll have to start a new game. Thanks, well Im using LOMSE, and Im conscious Ill have to start a new game but I was just wondering if it matters if I still have games that I saved before playing the exp. Im still trying to find out why its not working... I placed the 2 files (GS5R2 and PIC5R2) into my LOMSE folder and renamed them respectively gs.mpq and pic.mpq ( and yes I did change the names of the 2 initial ones to something else) I also placed the 4 maps in the map folder, I try loading the game to see if it works and it doesnt

What makes you sure it did not work? What evidence do you have to support this?

What makes you sure it did not work? What evidence do you have to support this? Well Ive checked the new unit stats from you mods and compared with what I have right now and its not the same, and plus you changed the names of the Champions and the names are still the same. I rolled life warrior and his title is Elven warlord, not elven patriarch so I came to the conclusion I was not playing the mod ;p

Full installation is required. Also, double check to see that you renamed the correct files correctly.

Yes I only have 1 istallation path, I installed on my drive D, not C though because there isnt enough space on the C. Im running LOMSE with the cd, I installed full installation, and yes Im sure both files are named properly, I even deleted the old ones. In fact, I just reinstalled the game to make sure everything would be ok, and it still doesnt work D:!!! Im dying to try your mod!

I jus noticed something, in your read me file you mention "SIERRA/LOMSE folder, but my folder is impressions game/LOMSE, could that be a problem? is there actually 2 versions of the game, 1 by sierra and another by Impressions game?

Default installation path for installing LOMSE is: Drive:/*/SIERRA/LOMSE/
Installation should be easy and if it's not worked thus far, something has to be wrong and I haven't an idea.

Well, you aren't playing the demo version, are you? Sounds dumb but I can't think of what might be wrong. If you could show us a screenshot of your lomse directory (hit printscreen button then open MS paint and press control+v to paste the pic into paint) save it and upload it to a free image hosting site (imageshack.com , photobucket.com) and give us the url to view it here.
The problem with this story is (not to insinuate you would lie) that if the original .mpq and .pic are the ones being loaded, (which would result in a normal, un-modded game) then they are still the original names (lomse will ONLY load GS.mpq and PIC.mpq , capitalization doesn't matter) But if the name is changed and it cant load the mod files, it shouldn't be able to run at all!
Sometimes, window's wont let you modify extensions, so when you have your window open on lomse, click
Tools - from the drop dowm menu select "Folder Options".
Folder Options... -from here click the "View" tab
View - from here go down the list of options you can click, look for an option that looks like this:
[] Hide extensions for known file types
If it is NOT checked (option is not on), then turn it on, and click [OK] to apply the options and exit.*
What this does it it makes every file in that folder (or all folders if you clicked the [Apply to all Folders] button) show what kind of file it is, so if you had a text filed called "gs5 installation" it will now be called "gs5 installation.txt".
Although, that may not be the problem, again, screenshots are worth a thousand retries!
*Note on folder options- don't mess with any other options here! if you allow yourself access to system folders and mess them up, its not my fault!

That may very well be his case. And in fact, if his archives are labeled gs.mpq.mpq, then the game will not read it and will therefore load directly from the CD (if the CD is in the drive). And if this were the case and the CD were not in the drive, the game wouldn't load at all.

I see! I've never done less than a full install, so I wasn't sure how it would act without those files.
Edit- I thought the game simply would not run, I had no idea it would load them from the disk, how many games would do that now? I know most don't =). But that's the deciding factor to the game that tells it if its Full, special or norm install, only if the files are there? Usually there's a config file that tells the install type (red alert, for example)
Edit 2- I modify my posts often, I have obsessive compulsive disorder, and I gotta touch up my posts grammar and wording, or it bugs me.

I just figured it out! and now I actually feel kinda dumb … I named the files "pic.mpq" and "gs.mpq", when I just had to name them "pic' and 'gs', I can't beleive I didnt see this before ffs, I reinstalled the game 3 times, I even redownloaded the patch 2 times oh well, thanks a lot for the help guys, now it works! lets try this!

Hi ManTeRa. I have to say, the latest version of the mod is amazing. It's like the feeling I had when I first played LOMSE.
I was playing Death, with a warlock(Not Balkoth, though). Naturally, everyone hates me.
I was attacking a group of marauders near my territory. It was already about 80 turns in, so everyone was down to Hatred/Loathing.
They said to me 'The people of Marauder loathe you. Our Lord(Just an empty space here ingame), will obliterate you!' Which was kinda... odd.
On the subject of marauders, I like how there are also rampaging sea monsters going about. You don't know terror until the boat your lord is on is about to sink.

Well, the "people of Marauder loathe you" is not my doing. Probably just a mix in code resulting from abandoned followers or something. Sea monsters will come about on their own, but usually are left overs or abandoned followers from AI faiths.

If I remember correctly, you could only hire them as mercenaries. Unless of course abandoning mercenaries made them into marauders..
Ah. I didn't see them before, though. Probably because I stayed away from the ocean.

I finally figured out a good way on how to give Trolls in-combat regeneration. That's included in this update. It was a very, very exciting addition for me to be able to add.

I now have also figured out how to make an all-purpose multi-shot spell and have now been able to create a Reflect Missile spell which reflects the same missile back to the attacker, rather than use a generic or invisible missile. Also devised a clever way to make Potions of Health automatically cast on the user in combat but allow for a target on the overland map.
√ Natural Troll Regeneration. √ All purpose Multi-shot spell. √ Reflect Missile spell. √ Potion of Health heal wielder in combat only and still heal others outside combat.

I'm going to try and find a way for the game to display how much damage was inflicted in ranged/melee combat. Such that a bubble tooltip window will show up somewhere on the screen.
