Most of those didn't turn out well as 16x16 icons, unfortunately.

Is that 16x16 pixels? I can re-crop them and get them smaller.

Is that 16x16 pixels? I can re-crop them and get them smaller. I've already tried, hence most of them don't look good. There were only like 3 or 4 that looked decent enough.

I think I got it! ;D I've re-cropped. Let me know the size of the larger icons (32x32?). I think I can optimize them.

When I said most of them didn't turn out well, I meant to say is that they didn't look good or of quality to use. They're very blurry at small resolutions and that just makes it difficult for players to distinguish what it is. Even LOMSE had a few artifacts in the game where you can't tell w-t-f they are. Like Morgan's Mantle and some other armor/plate. Here is an updated preview of the next gen artifact icons:

The new icons looks real nice. I like how you incorporated the other Blizzard game a bit more. I realize that some are blurry. Most shouldn't look as bad since they had a natural 16x16 size (2nd file). I don't want to push them beyond their own merits as they should stand for themselves. I collect icons, and these are the few I thought stood a chance. If you don't like them (too ugly), I'll be the first to admit some aren't really easy on the eyes. I don't think you should disqualify those you may like for their initial blurriness. That's why I sent the second file. I'm hoping one or two make the cut but I'm not sure if there is a cut to make. Is there? [EDIT:] Ideally, an icon that looks normally like: Should look like: I believe this is possible with most of them.

It's not a matter of cute or ugly. Most of them look poor at the low resolution. Some you just cannot tell what they are.
The two grails/cups, the knight helmet, the daggers, the swiss shield and the eagle shield were ones I that looked okay at low resolution.
But they don't offer anything new, per se.
There's already a few grails in use, a bunch of helmets now with the D1 items, daggers (plus the new poisoned knife & dagger), already have chalices, and two more colorized shields.
Those were ones I would've picked, but I don't know if they're a good fit.
I even threw out a bunch of WC3 icons if you hadn't noticed.
I suppose what could be done is that I could take those artifacts as a seperate file and format them to the LBM style. Then perhaps others who are looking to mod the game can use them.

I didn't really think you could see the daggers all too well. They are different but I'm not sure what qualifies as "new". I was aiming for realism. There aren't a whole lot of artifacts that LOM:SE hasn't covered or fit in someway. I did notice the missing WC3 icons, I guess they didn't stand out? I think you definately need the Chalice of Jesus from The Last Crusades, seriously! You can put them in LBM style if you want but I'm not really going to worry about a few icons, they will always be part of my collection of hundreds of Mac icons.

Out of all the icons you suggested, pick out the ones you want most, and try to fill up an entire row of icons.

There ya go! I thought you meant fill up a row number wise since you already had all the 16x16 icons I didn't think you needed an actual row.

Also, those spell icons which are presently set up as Artifact icons... some of those will be used in a different manner.
I plan to use the Walk icons and scroll icons (perhaps others as well) as icons that will show up in the unit information panel when each particular unit has a certain spell buff.
So if you have the spell buff Forced March, there will be an icon that appears in the info panel next to the unit flags.
In addition to this, I also plan to update existing flag icons. Such that, if a unit can rally, it will display a 16x16 Rally button icon.
If a unit has used a Scroll of Strength/Dexterity/Wisdom/etc., I'll have an icon for that one as well.
ALSO, aside from all of the above, I would LIKE to figure out how to get the game to display the text description for physical buffs in the same manner it would display the spell name when highlighting a unit in combat.
...what I may end up having to do is devising a copy of how spells function with 'speltool.gs' and others and modify them to function for physical (de)buffs.
I've got a solid two weeks of work, so any sort of work for the LOMSE mod will have to wait. So probably very little will change, as far as updates to the mod, will occur until the second week of May. I will be able to make minor adjustments to the mod for a future update while I am at work though. But again, don't expect an update.
I am however, working a little bit at a time, on taking some spell icons and morphing them into command button icons. This one takes time.
Finally, the PIC5R3 and GS5R3 will probably not be released until Mid June. That's my early projection.

Sent them to your email. Could only choose 19. My mistake, I miscounted and was in a hurry. Post another line of artifacts and fill the whole line. I think it's actually 25. Maybe throw in those elixirs. Idk, you decide.

Another updated preview: Another row of more colorized artifacts. Not even sure if I'll use them all, but I want to keep some options opened. This way I will be less likely to make another update to the PIC MPQ. Also made the Death potions a darker purple.

I'm presently working on new portraits to be associated with the newer graphics.
For the Diablo icons, I'm just simply using larger versions of the graphic as the portraits.

the D1 icons are fine to a certain extent, but the WC3 icons are too different. I think its not a good idea to put them. They are also known by many and someone who will see them will associate immediately with wc3 and wow, which isnt a good thing.

They are also known by many and someone who will see them will associate immediately with wc3 and wow, which isnt a good thing. But LOMSE is already related to D1 and WC3. They all use MPQs to archive data. There's only one row of WC3 icons, which may not ever be used. I'm adding a bunch of this icons and graphics so that if I ever need to or want to, I'll have options available to make additions to the mod without needing to release a brand new PIC.mpq. I kind of have to plan way ahead and leave a lot of room for extra graphics. You might even recognize that I haven't even used all of the spell icons I generated through re-colorization. Some of them would be difficult to even find a use for. Updated preview:

Another updated preview with more colorized versions of original artifact icons: I have slightly lightened the Water Potions there. Aside from this, I have updated and fixed Potion Portraits. The palette in each image was not set properly and some colors would display as a transparent color.
