I played primarily NE and I found they were way too easy to exploit.
Orc became a cheese race, to many ways to abuse with them.
The death knight was to powerful of a hero. he could harass, heal, nuke, plus he had a good aura.
Humans were always decent, if you knew how to use them.
I always thought that as the game went on it exposed more weaknesses that players easily exploited.
AOE and siege totally fucked every race but orc, and the game pretty much turned into:
Whatever race you played you had 4 build strategies - 1 for each race. That's all that you ever needed or played. Half the units became useless.
the game lost its spontaneity. to many holes to exploit in every race. Blizzard tried to balance the game by making some races weaker and some stronger in certain areas, instead of rounding out all the races.
TFT obviously tried to counter spells, but they completely destroyed their 1 in the process, making it impractical to use certain units. IE archer, ghoul, footie. A single hero could easily take out those units with a nuke and a few hits. In my opinion it ruined the game.

Company of Heroes is a lot of fun if neither side resorts to using excessive artillery strikes.
Warcraft 3 and SC are both quite excellent in their genres (fantasy and sci-fi) as RTS. Good selection of units, relatively balanced and great replay value. I always get a bit of a rush watching a whole company of marines go up against a horde of zerglings or a protoss assault force and the cinematics were very good for their time.

I think Starcraft:Broodwar is one of the best, if not the best RTS. The flexibility of each race and superb game mechanics make it both fun and competitive. I play it pretty frequently, if any of you wants to test your might, I would be up for a game.
