I noticed that you removed the garrisons from the temples and capitals, to reduce the fallout from killing a Lord early in the game.
Is there anyway to encourage the AI to defend them though? It's a little disconcerting to wander around and see them completely undefended, or to hear about them being captured every few turns.
Anyway, your intro messages still say that your enemies start with powerful armies defending the capital and the temple. That's not accurate anymore.

Actually, the Garrisons were removed for multiplayer purposes. But also, the "revenge ai" caused the Death of two Lords, if faith killed another.
Garrisons could be bought out by other players in multiplayer easily, which caused a bit of imbalance.
The AI will defend the capital with what they can afford. If the capital is undefended, they're broke. In some cases, there will be small garrison.

I see. I guess that's realistic anyway, since I rarely defended my temple at first.
