To play a LAN game, both computers must be on the same network, not just the same LAN. The default network is "MS_HOME." I forget how to check/change this Go to the "Network Setup Wizard" to check what Workgroup name you're connected to. Maybe the two computers have two different network names.

Also, you'll need an IPX/SPX compatible protocol installed.
