Has anyone had success getting LOMSE to run in the Windows 7 OS?
If so, please describe what you did to get it to work. Might be helpful in the future for others.

hi Mantera, just installed it. it works fine. no special advantages for me, its the same resolution 800 by 600 i think, just like d2. basiclly um, be an adminstrator (but dont run as administrator) and unzip the winrar/iso file to the desktop... run setup as usual... replace files with the mods and then just play it. dont even need to set up xp compatibility ill screenshot later..

Excellent. Good to know. I have just put in an order Sunday for a brand new laptop that runs Windows 7 Home. I'm ordering the same laptop I ordered for him a month earlier (yes, he paid for it). I did try to run LOMSE on my boss's laptop (I'm his computer tech). I kept having issues with the DPStub.exe and it would then terminate. I tried to do compatibility settings also.

Okay, so I just got my laptop in today and it uses Windows 7. I don't know if running LOMSE from my flash drive on my boss's laptop was the issue or not... it's running LOMSE now and it's on the HDD of my laptop.

There's apparently no chance of getting IPX/SPX compatible protocols into Windows 7. Been looking all day.
So Local Area Network games are out of the question, unless you use Kali or GameRanger (which at present still doesn't support the GS5R2 mod).
