Whats up guys, This site is bitchin, I freaking love LOMSE. Maybe its just youthful nostalgia... Nah, LOMSE is bad ass always! This is a follow up on Shin's Character Portrait Request Thread. I thought I would start my own so you guys can follow along, make requests for units or heroes, whatever. Also I'll state my progress problems, solutions so that others who were interested could make some as well if they desire, (its way fun if you can do it right). My little pipeline thus far... 1. Line Art in my Sketchbook 2. Scan in to photoshop and modify 3. Take a blank character portrait 70x67, and scale down my drawing in multiply mode ( I lose a LOT of detail in this step! ) and lay it on top the blank character portrait. 4. Modify again 5. Save Line Art original in .psd and save the New Character as .psd and .jpg to put in the game. What do you guys think? The Line art looks so much better before the scaling... This is something I need to work on I think. Maybe not so much detail is needed in the small details, its just a waste of time. Live and learn. Attachments:

Lost detail or not, these portraits are amazing!
I've never had such a talent myself. I bought my fiance one of those Bamboo sketchpads to fuel her love of art and animation, and I'm often tempted to sneak it over to my office to try to draw characters... but I just don't seem to have much artistic talent.
Anyway, I love them ;D

Wow! Just wow! hahahahah! That Gnome Magician... [Laugh out Loud]!!! [Oh my God!]! So damn funny! That is the funniest thing I could ever imagine seeing being added to lords of magic. So fucking hilarious!!! I love it!
The Fire Warrior and Dwarven Warrior are great!
The Chaos Shaman is excellent!
The Fire Dwarf, I'm having trouble following. I'm not sure if it even looks like a Dwarf at all. From the portrait, he looks more like he would be an Eagle-Man. Does that make any sense? What's throwing me off is the beard and flowing hair. The flowing hair, I think, gives off the look that he's an Eagle-man.
The Amazon portrait is good, though, but I have a request. Could you take the same drawing you used to create the Amazon and make a portrait that focuses more on her face? I would like to compare the two side by side, so I could see which would be a better fit.
As these portraits stand now, I want to add them all.
In regards to the Fire Dwarf, I would just like some clarification. Flowing hair and full beards, to the best of my knowledge aren't exactly FIRE Dwarf features. For your benefit and mine, just because I do not exactly see what makes that character portrait a Fire Dwarf, I will be adding that portrait regardless.
Keep up the great work. I do have other character portraits I would like to request.
In keeping your part, you have developed six portraits as you had promised. In keeping my part, I will delay the release of the PIC5R3 and subsequent GS5R3 to follow in the coming weeks. (Two and a half weeks from now on) Friday April 16, 2010 is the new projected release date.
Given that the date above is the new release date, the deadline for new portraits to be added will need to be Monday April 11, 2010: it will take time and testing to get all newly added portraits to formatted and rendered perfectly for Lords of Magic to read without issue.
This release date will give you enough opportunity and time (two weeks, or 14 days) to develop, draw and/or create additional portraits to be added to the PIC5R3 and every subsequent update.
While the wait for the next generation of the mod is further delayed, this will give mod players an incentive and added bonus for the long wait.
Since the PIC5R3 mod has been delayed, I will also work on colorizing additional artifact portraits in the coming days.
Thank you for your hard work Wolfnine.

@ Boaster: I agree and I see what you mean with the Dwarf Thief. I will modify him and the amazon as you requested. Im glad everyone is liking them, and I appreciate the feed back. I would be happy to crank out another six this week, but it will have to wait till this weekend. I gotta run to work, I'll post more tomorrow.

Dwarf Thief revised. I saw him originally with like a long draping leather helmet almost arabic in fashion. It rendered as hair for you, and as I looked at the way you mentioned I saw it as hair as well. Oops. As for the Beard, I dunno I can't think of a dwarf without one. I think they all have short ones ( those of the fire nation). But maybe thats just me. I HATE just about every fire thief image in the game because they don't comply with my imagination. Attachments:

Amazon Warrior (Close Up) I think in this case now she could pass for a Amazon mage or priestess or whatever, I dunno. I never play Water. But a warrior would work also. I think I still prefer the first one, but either is fine. I accept the challenge and I will have another 6 pack done this Sunday evening. However that will be all she wrote from me until after April 21st, Finals are nearing and I will be busy busy. Its to bad I can't turn these in to my professors for some credit, they are so fun. The Dwarf picture looks better. Is that some sort of eye piece he's wearing? Makes him look like an inventor. Could you try and make another Fire Dwarf thief picture. Using specifications as I described in the portrait request thread? With the Punisher and Burglar Lord, I would say look at the original in-game portraits and perhaps use those as a guide. The Punisher Lord, I would imagine would have a rounder face. More horizontally oval than vertically. Just kind of think of Stewie Griffin from family guy in that respect. Pictures 1, 4 & 7 in the Punisher champion set would be a good pictures to refer to. Also the Punisher Lord portrait itself. Typical feature of a Fire Dwarf would be the bulbous nose, round face, and dwarven. Fire Dwarves aren't exactly the rugged Warriors that Stone Dwarves are. As I suspected, the Amazon portrait that's closer up would make a better fit. You're sort of right about it's ability to fit as a mage or thief portrait even. I will use both portraits in the mod. Here are some requests I have further for portraits, for the next batch: Witch Lord Witch Champion (2 or 3 different portraits). Orc Champion (2 or 3 different portraits). Life Archers Centaur Swordsman Arch Wizard Enchantress Queen

Anyway, I used those "Dwarf" portraits as additional Warlock portraits. Just seemed fitting.
