I want to add the unit panels from GS5 to the original LoM GS.mpq, would I need to import Panels.gs?

Correct.
From GS5: export "gs/dlg/panels.gs"
To GS: import "gs/dlg/panels.gs"

Import was successful, but the unit panels are exactly the same as original LoM unit panels. I double checked and the new panels.gs from gs5.mpq is in there, it replaced the old panels.gs.

Right click your gs.mpq, go to properties. The MPQ Archive might have write protection. So uncheck "read only."

I checked the properties and saw the "Read Only" check box unchecked, so it wasn't that unfortunately.

Never had the problem, so I don't know how to remedy it.
It must be LOMSE's gs.mpq.
It must have "read only" unchecked.
The directories and file names must match exactly. The new "panels.gs" should be placed in "gs/dlg/" and overwrite "panels.gs."
If nothing works, you're on your own.

Panels.gs is the new unit information panels with the extra information like attack speed and recovery delay correct?
I used a fresh copy of GS.mpq off the CD, gs5.mpq, and an extract of panels.gs, and still nothing is happening.
Is there anything else I might need to do?

Maybe check the settings of your MPQ Editor. I really don't have any new ideas beyond that.

What does the Attributes column mean?

It's acting like it has another mpq to read from, I don't know where...

Figured it out. I needed to add infopan.gs. Thanks for the assistance.

That's right. I got confused when you mentioned panels.gs. I haven't been editing a whole lot here lately. School and other things have my attention for a majority of the week. I appologize for my lack of attention to detail regarding the correct file.
