The title explains itself.
In siege, the gate doesn't seem to take any damage, and won't open if i click it (though the enemy can if I'm the attacker).
I actually commanded my troops once to attack it when the battle began, and the gate began moving out of it's location, so it got surrounded by my troops (the gate took no damage still [Laugh out Loud]). Of course, the battlefield was still under the effect as if the gate remained closed and stationary.
What could be the reason for this?

The city gate is supposed to remain stationary and it should be attackable by units who are near it. Maybe some how the gate gained mobility and the units weren't able to attack it because it was moving away from your army. Usually when a unit is moving very slow away from an enemy, the enemy cannot attack until that unit has reached the next tile. So in between tiles, the unit is effectively not attackable by melee. Can't say for sure though.

But i meant that the gate in virtually invulnerable, no matter when. Any time there is a siege, the gate cannot be destroyed - ie, i can destroy and entire chaos army of lvl5 units with 3 crossbowmen. Generally, a battle cannot be won in siege if there are no mages or archers, because the gate cannot be destroyed, so i'm forced to autocalc.

Hmmm, I can't say that I've encountered this myself. Maybe its something recent.

If you haven't encountered that problem, i suspect I have because of the patch that came with LOMSE you uploaded being corrupted. I couldn't install it, so perhaps it fixes it. Is there any way I can download the patch independently?

You wouldn't be able to attack until you settle at a tile, since attacking while moving is not possible. Hmmm, I can't say that I've encountered this myself. Maybe its something recent.
