i have played lords of magic since i was 5 and have ben trying to find an .mpq opener/editor but all the one i find dont work or are filled with viruses can any one email me one or give me a reliable site to get one thanks

1 problem

problem: when i try to ipen a file i get error code 21
(im using Ladik's MPQ editor)

2 questions
question 1:can i make lord units specal (eg.life warrior lord yo a Pegasus)

question 2:what file do i got to to do the thing in question 1 (if its possible)

P.S what dose exalt/smite do(afraid to try em out)

You're not experienced enough to use Ladik. Use WinMPQ. People have more trouble with Ladik than I do. I figured it was easy, but no.

1. Yes, but it's EXTREMELY difficult to do if you want all things to match. But, if you don't care about some of the superficial stuff.…

• Open 'units\lildf.gs' (Do not use quote marks, [By the way]).
  
• Remove '/lifitm 0{"lifit"mount_imp_filename}0 addmounttype def begin_unit_definition '
  
• Remove '/impfile_proc{"lildf"unittype_imp_filename}def '
  
• Insert the following:
  /lildrm{"licr3"back_wing_imp_filename}{"licr3"mount_imp_filename}{"licr3"front_wing_imp_filename}addmounttype def
  /impfile_proc{"licr3"unittype_imp_filename}def
  /shadow_impfile_proc{"licr3"shadow_imp_filename}def
  /death_impfile_proc{"licr3"death_imp_filename}def
  
• Change 'UNITTYPELAND' to 'UNITTYPEAIR'.
  
• Copy over any other necessary data you feel is necessary from 'units\licr3.gs'.
  

You will have everything but the Army Roster sprite changed. This one is too complicated for anyone but myself, in my opinion.

2. 'units\lildf.gs' and 'units\licr3.gs'.



Exalt/Smite is just a forum thing. If you like what someone says, Excalt them. If you dislike what they say, Smite them. It's a form of member popularity.

Give it time. Mantra is always extending LOM beyond it's limits.

You can have a pegasus life lord. Just Do what I said. Use WinMPQ to make edits.

your firs step is to "open"the file do you meen literaly open(iv tryed to do that [By the way]) or do you meen somethin else

Open GS.mpq using WinMPQ, then open file 'units/lildf.gs' and 'units/licr3.gs'.

i see what you are saying but iv tryed right click opening comand opening and things in that line but nothing hapens(i litiraly meen nothing)

Then you don't have *.GS files associated to open up with notepad. That's my guess.

Yes, or open them directly from WinMPQ, edit and save, then go to the WinMPQ window and it should say that a document was changed and asks if you want to put it into the Archive.

i just extracted draged and droped and named correctevly time to test

grrrr when i open LOMSE all i see is death lord and when i try to start game it closes on me with error repot what i do wrong i did what you said
