I'm sure this has been suggested before but is it possible to make the cost of recruiting a new unit increase relative to its level?
So you if you train up your archers in your theives guild to say, level 4, you'd be paying alot more for them than when they were level 1.
This would stop units becoming so expendable late game, when you have thousands of gold and don't know what to do with it. It would make people think twice about recruiting huge amounts of highly skilled armies too and also make having a second barracks/theives guild useful incase you want some cheeper low level units to train them up instead of forking out alot of recources.

Yes, it is possible. I have been considering this a long time but I know it would be a little dicey getting it into the game. Since Mercenaries already had their code adjusted, it was easier to tweak their costs based on the level of the building or city. As far as basing it on the level of the unit being trained, it would be a little more dicey and I'd have to work at it a bit. This would also require cost changes to all units. So yes, it would be dicey and take some time.

hmm well its it not too difficult then I definity think it will add more balance to late game, and if it's easier then setting it relative to the building level would do the job just aswel.
What got me thinking about this was how challenging the game is at the start compared to how easy it gets late game, at the start your realy fighting for your life and every champion/unit is invaluable. Now we have larger maps aswel games can typicaly last longer so this would help keep it challenging imo.
