I have figured out how stealth works in LOMSE. It's not real clear, but I have some info. There's six different ways stealth works: - Overland Map Army vs Stealthed Thief
- Overland Map Thief vs Stealthed Thief
- Overland Map Thief Detecting vs Stealthed Thief
- Combat Army vs Stealthed Thief
- Combat Thief vs Stealthed Thief
- Combat Thief Detecting vs Stealthed Thief
The factors involved in detection are: - Distance from Thief to opposing unit.
- Level of opposing unit.
- Stealth Ratio: Level of Stealthed Thief, multiplied by 10, divided by Stealth Noise Factor if > 1.
- V1 equation.
- V2 equation.
- Resulting percentage of V1 * V2.
All of the six types of detecting a Stealthed Thief are virtually the same. The key differences lie in the V1 equation. For each tile the Stealthed Thief moves, a check is made to see if he is detected. If the Thief unstealths, then restealths, another check is made. A Stealth Noise Factor of 1 is the absolute best a Thief can achieve. Any less than one makes no difference, as far as I can tell. There is not much I can do to the way the game because I do not know which army or index references the game uses. I believe they are called from somewhere in the game's memory, but it's definitely does not reference to any other GS file. I have a good idea on what the reference calls may be being used. But this is how stealth works, basically.

mmh intresting but so complicated. Only the unit with the hightest level is influential In the party vs stealth thief or the number of units is relevant? And how work the stealth factor in a stealt party (1 thief + 1 or 2 units stealthed)? Why generally the AI players associates to the stealthed thief one creature or one missile unit?

The things that matter:
Distance between Stealthed Thief and an enemy unit. Level of Stealthed Thief Level of Enemy army Stealth Noise Factor of Stealthed Thief

sounds like actions during combat and events effect stealth efficiency. but everything you pointed out was sorta known if you play the game enough, just not the math.
