I propose a testing and design section of the forums for people to be able to give feedback towards the changes that are made in the game. I also propose that A group of voulenteers each take a faith that they like to play and then focus on how that faith can be made more viable and/or fun as far as gameplay is concerned. In addition we could all group together to address global game issues.
I propose that all game testing be done one 1 standard map. (perhaps hard and fair 1)
For example i would voulenteer to be the order tester (since that is my favorite race)
Job of a tester would be to Playthrough the game and test different aspects of play spacificly relating to each unique trait of each faith such as units and spells.
Testers would play through the game on the same map as other testers and jot notes about how fun and or viable it is to play the class.
Notes could be general such as special water ementals don't cast drowning enough for example or giant arachnids are too weak.
Notes could also be more spacific as well.
Furthermore we as testers could all get together and converge our ideas as a way of checks and balences so that no one class falls behind in uniqueness, power or ability.
We could also have panels where we would discuss changes boaster has made and make determinations about what we think defines each class.
for example: Water- subtile, defence etc.
All and all i think this will help make the game even better. After all, with all the free time boaster spends taken up by modding i'm sure there is not nearly enough time for him to play test every change he makes for a long term sitting. Many changes that make mathmatical and theoretical sence while looking at the code can sometimes be an under or over powered change in the long run. Do you think you could use some fresh eyes boaster?
in addition a detailed manual would need to be maintained and updated for the game detailing how each aspect of the game works: Stats and what they all mean and how they factor into gameplay, Units and what special powers if any they have (water elementals drowning) and in general what they are used for (knights counter archers)
Also in general i noticed battles asre so short in this game that it's hard to see how effective each unit is. Would it make sence to maybe blanket every single unit in game with 4x the life maybe to make battles longer and give each unit a chance to make a bigger difference?
Also even on easy mode it takes an aweful long time to build yourself up. Maybe tweak this a little to make overland gameplay a little less long while making battles longer.
