So Johngalt suggested to me that Freeze needed a change. I agreed. It did need a change, but not exactly for the reason he had. Freeze was a bit overpowering vs Unique units. So what did I do? Same thing I did with Pacify and Blind Rage: added a Level requirement vs Uniques.
Freeze, Icy Coffin, Turn to Stone and Petrify now require the caster to be one level above the target, if the target is a Unique unit (uniques include Lords, Special Champions, Leaders or Heirs).
Thus a hostile enemy Champion would never be able to Freeze or Turn to Stone your Lord at Level 10 or more.
Additionally, I added some extra changes into the mix. It was an idea brought forth by johngalt and I agreed; it made sense.
Offensive fire spells (and some defensive Fire spells) removing an existing Freeze or Icy Coffin buff. It made sense to me.
One thing I did not remove from Freeze or Icy Coffin was making Fire units have a static vulnerability to Water while under the spells' influences. All units who are Freeze'd automatically get -100 resistance to Fire magic. However only Fire units get their Water Resistance set to -100. This will be changed this though. However non-Fire units will have their Water Resistance set to 75 (you have to figure that while Frozen, what more harm could Water magic do?).
Also, as a final mention, I came up with a cutesy little stipulation on Freeze and Icy Coffin spells. These spells cannot affect a unit who is standing over Lava terrain.

Thats the most retarded thing ive ever heard of. Why would someone be less resistant to fire spells if they are FROZEN. If someone is frozen you would have to melt the ice before the heat from the fire could be hot enough to damage them.
And i thought this was suppose to be lords of MAGIC. not lords of oh im such a pathetic and weak powered mage that my ice spell can't overcome the all powerful lava terrain. What the hell. Magic is suppose to be immencly powerful especially in a game called.… you guessed it Lords of MAGIC. You all ready took away drowing from water mages and the elementals because you thought it was overpowered. So instead of increasing the mana cost or lowering the damage you just remove it. Because pushing something out of the way is easier than actually bothering to work on it.
You claim you're trying to do the game justice by making it better but theres a difference between trimming the meat and adding some salt vs taking a butchers knife and throwing things on it. You go completly overboard with your creativity to the point that besides the way it looks some of the game isnt even recognizable.
off topic:
Worst of all you're completly incapable of answering a question. I asked you why the detect cave spell was useful not how it works. You're like a politition when someone askes you a question all you do is deflect it and start talking about well this is and this does.
At this point i don't think you're trying to be pathetic i just don't think you know any better.
And i don't care what johngalt137 says because when i started playing a game with him and saw how he played i realized that he was so bad at the game that he hasn't even gotten good enough to summin a legendary knight much less play it. How ironic that the biggest shit talkers are the ones that know the least.
You need to be a hell of alot more careful with your eastereggs your "cutesy" stipulations because what your doing is taking a 100 year old egyption carving and instead of restoring and revitalizing it and then leaving it alone you wood carve a western cowboy hat and a miller light and add it to the sculpture.
Meanwhile you do all this stupid shit you could be actually fixing and working towards fixing existing issues. It's a good thing your doing this for fun because you're not getting hired by any one as a designer. Except maybe S.O.E.
You're an incredible coder. I havn't even figured out how to edit the files yet. I can open them up with the program but all that does is give me a list of long unregnizable files inside of the .mpq that i don't know how to work with yet but honestly you need to stick to what you do well which is coding and stop listening to johngalt137 just because he kisses your ass and worships you.
The fact of the matter is he's just an uninformed drone. You could serve him a pile of dog shit and say that you made it and the fact that it came from you would make him think it tasted like chocolate pudding.
And another thing, you may not like to admit it but atleast im going to tell you whats up instead of going around on the boards and saying my 100 hail boasters and creaming in your ass like a phony. You're a god among children boaster. The adult world is where people actually think and formulate opinions based on experience vs blind servitude which is exatly what's holding up you're ego right now.
I know you're begging for people to love your mod. Thats why you go to all these old decreped lomse message boards and post hey guys i got a mod that makes this game really cool.
But i will not love your mod just because your boaster or just because you tried hard because in the real world innovation is what drives sucess. Innovation from regular every day people and it's hasn't and never will be the government or anyone else wiping peoples asses and going poor baby i know you didn't earn it i know you don't deserve it but vote for me and i'll feed you all the fish in the world. But what is really better?
Well if you want to control the supply of fish you'll never teach someone to fish but if you genuinly care you will teach someone to fish.
Damnit.

Hey Solarr8, look, I don't know Boaster but judging from his posts, he has blunt style, and compromising and being flexible doesn't seem to be his first instinct. He'll not answer questions that has already been discussed in previous posts, doesn't tolerate obtuseness, doesn't excuse those who don't read the instructions and manual, and he doesn't appear to like to appease. He is who he is and take it or leave it.
(to Boaster, I know I'm pigeon-holing you a bit here but I just trying to make a point to Solarr8. Please understand)
Well, you don't like his "boastful" attitude, don't like that he doesn't appear attentive to your suggestions, and come to not like him in general, I guess. That's cool but all these long posts shows me that you are really really frustrated by it and want to lash out, I guess it's because you just feel so indignant. Am I right? Well it appears that you made your dislike and anger very apparent to everyone. Nevermind all the arguments about the minute detail of the game. THIS IS JUST A GAME. So, make your point about the game, your displeasure to Boaster, and move on. Otherwise, the valid points that you write totally gets lost in vast amount of frustration filled diatribe, and you are rapidly losing credibility (see your karma).
And might I add that if Boaster answers every single question in the thoroughness that you wish, he'd have very little time for working on the mod or on Real Life for that matter. So, again, you can just consider him an a$$hole, call him so, and move on.
That's my 2 cents worth of a soap box.

I have no obligation to answer questions. This is a non-profit venture.
About myself: I am happy and willing to answer questions as best I can. If you're not satisfied with my answer, then I apologize. Aside from answering questions, I do not appease to the every little whim you or anyone else has. I am sovereign, I do what I feel is necessary and right to do. I have a low tolerance for bullshit and/or annoyances (solarr has become such). I believe in fairness in treatment, unless it's judgment against my sins (thank heaven for the J-man); seldom do I make exception.
I try to do what's in the best interest of the GAME. I try to make it better and more enjoyable. I cared enough to figure out how to mod the game by learning how to edit without ANY previous knowledge on how to do so. I looked at things, tested things (trial and error is my friend), I observed and I made progress in little steps.
Solarr8, no apology from me, but if you DO NOT like what I have done, then that's just how it is. We are not in agreement.
Your words have been crude and sharp. They have been very critical and very nasty. I generally don't make use of admin powers by locking threads, or by suspending accounts. In the last two days, I have done both.
When your suspension from board use has come to a close, seven days from now, please try to be more courteous and mannered.
Finally, and once again, if anyone has questions about myself or the mod, I will either answer them as best I can, or not answer them at all. If I do not answer them at all, there may be an answer already floating around. If I do not answer a question, then perhaps it wasn't clearly asked, or called for a question too complicated for the time to warrant a response.
Perhaps before you ask me a question, ask yourself the question and look for an answer on your own. If you cannot find an answer, or are uncertain of what the answer might be, include your own possible answers and ask for a point of reference.
My tolerance for bullshit is at an all time low since I sprained my ankle yesterday. I'm sure in a week I will be feeling much better.

My reason for making Frozen units more susceptible to cold damage goes sort of like this: When I go to take a bath and my feet are really cold, but the water is hot, my system gets a shock. Ergo, the heat is more devastating when my feet are cold. The difference in temperature is just too much. Also when you combine heat on ice, the ice cracks. It made sense to me. Drowning was not removed from the game. Staff of Drowning, hello? Still casts it. Even has a chance to cast it on ATTACK. Drowning was never a spellbook spell in the original, and right now, still is not a spellbook spell. HOWEVER, I will see about adding it to the spellbook but limiting access to knowledge of the spell through artifacts and spell scrolls.

How ironic that the biggest shit talkers are the ones that know the least. [Solarr's bad at coding and keeps whining about it] Just a note about what is going on in the game Solarr8 and I are playing: Early on turn 6ish the game lagged and wouldn't take my orders about moving fairy slingers when freeing my great temple. Not wanting to lastsave I fled the great temple so that the game could continue without a restart. We started the game with our strongholds being owned, so I couldn't hire any mercenaries to fix the issue quickly, and my lord wasn't of high enough level to solo the temple. (We also started with only ten spells so I didn't have any summon spells or anything that the lord could do offensively besides the initial lightning spell). It took me another 14 turns or so to free my temple, when I could get a group of slingers together that could take out the remaining two baddies. Since then I've made a massive comeback. My lord has been a higher level than his the entire game. I've harassed him pretty successfully, at one point taking over his Great Temple, Capital, and a bunch of his mines. In order to stop me from harassing him he bought four mages from his tower (total cost what 300-400 ish crystals? More?) He lost two of them fighting my one air elemental. Grand total I profited a thousand resources stealing his mines and selling them to other faiths with that one air elemental and two or three scouts. So I lose one air elemental and maybe 3 scouts, total resource value about 100. I gained about a thousand in resources via barter selling his stuff. He also lost about 200 in resources and two followers. His leader is at a lower level, mine is higher, if he tries to march his leader up to kill me I know of two different ways to kill him. He has no idea where my leader is, and if he does move his leader+garrison out to find me, or attempt to take my capital I can trivially take control of his. I'm about 7 days away from summoning my legendary creature if I wanted to, but decided early on not to summon it because he'd claim that he lost because Air's legendary is "imbalanced" compared to order's. It'd also help him if he learned how parry works.

I never thought about it, but looks like it may be necessary to remove the Parley option from inactive faiths.

I never thought about it, but looks like it may be necessary to remove the Parley option from inactive faiths. Actually we're playing with 6 AI. So it has nothing to do with inactive faiths.
