I just downloaded LOMSE, because I really wanted to try out the special edition (I own the original copy of LOM), after I had installed the mods. I played it through quite fast yesterday. And for some reason when I went with Light _Warrior_ all of my enemies Champions were thieves. And that kinda sucked, 'cause I didn't get to fight Balkoth but this pussy ass Venom. Anyways I enjoyed the game very much, but there are couple of things that bothered me; 1. This might be because I played on normal. But after I got the legendaries from the Great Temple, the game was over. I had won at that point, they are way too cheap and powerful. 2. The NPC never got their legendaries from the temple? And my playthrough lasted for ~75 rounds. 3. Couldn't change the mouse speed from the option menu, it was 8 and I put it to 4. Then went back to the menu; it's 8 again. But I'm really hoping someone would succeed in graphically improving the game or atleast manage to get the resolution a little bit higher. Since the possibility of a sequel seems pretty much 0 right now. I am also probably starting to mod this by myself also, after I've got more into it again Glad to see there are still people who remember this game. PS. I'm playing this on Linux.

As far as "Pussy ass" Venom, I think a Level 15 Murderer is quite powerful. Now, unless you're playing on Easy, well, I can't help that. You're in control there. Also more in control if you use the Lord Editor.
One thing I will be implementing into the GS5R3 will be Death (for the computer controlled player) having the Arch Demon was Lord always on Hard mode, but never on Medium or Easy. This I have already figured out and am implementing into the GS-Zero mod, which has been the major focus of my modding efforts lately.
As far as the computer in the GS5R3 being unable to get their Legendary creature, I can look into this. Though, I have witnessed Death summoning their Lich before. I think mainly it has to do with resources, which all units have been increased/changed from the unmodded game.
With the options not saving, hmm, I couldn't tell ya. Works fine on my end and I used a Windows OS. Can't help you there, sorry.

"Pussy ass" not in stats and skills, but in my memories I remember Balkoth as a real badass flying on a damn bat with a misty cloud around him. While this guy was walking alone. Don't get me wrong here I was satisfied with the game, but I thought it was weird that the other Faiths Champions were thieves, when I chose the Warrior. Weird bug I'd say, 'cause as far as I remember in LOM, when you chose Warrior your opponents also had Warriors. The saving might just have been some weird glitch, I never tried it again when I rebooted the game. Also I'm running it in Wine which means Linux has got very little to do with it. And [By the way] If anybody who sees this needs Linux help on LOM and the installing of the mods I'd be glad to help. And I have to say I admire you for keeping this small community still alive. Keep up the very good work. Now I'm going to go play it through a couple of more times to get more into it.

The community is for the enjoyment of the players, not for me. But I will take your thanks all the same.
If balkoth had a cloud around him, he might have suffered from a Fog spell, or maybe Gift of Golgoth spell.
The fact that all other faiths got Thief Lords was purely by chance. All Lords of computer controlled faiths are generated randomly.
However, when I first played the unmodded LOM, it was typical for me to see my opposing faith to be the same class as I. It was my idea that being a Warrior would mean other faiths were more than likely to be Warriors. Unfortunately, this is not true from what I know today.

Hmm, yeah I always thought that if I take the Warrior class, other faiths had Warriors also. But this makes more sense.
