Have been playing GSR5 for a while now, and have noticed that death is extremely overpowered in almost all regards. Start a standard custom game with Balkoth and his scythe and cloak of the vamp, and a warrior and thief lord. By the time you've found the proper gear throughout the game and maxed all three of their levels, they are unstoppable, individually and as a whole.
I'll start with the thief lord, who I believe is the most powerful. Give him Amulet of Fate and the Life Stealing Blade and he can literally walk in to nearly every high end dungeon in the game and wipe it clean without even moving the mouse and just letting him stand there. He's got warrior stats buffed 20 att 22 defense, physical resists (with amulet), insanely hard to hit... and thats not even the brutal part. Not only is his ranged attack at 34 (thats huge ranged) but he throws INSANELY fast. With the artifact hes throwing multiple knives 25% of the time. Nearly every other dungeon he wipes out every enemy on the map in one throw if a warrior has stopped traffic in front of him. Hardly anything can even get to him as long as you change target between throws so theres not multiple knives heading at the same target. Ignore all of that and the biggest factor (and this is unbalance for all of death champions) HE STEALS LIFE. HUGE AMOUNTS. How are you supposed to kill something that REALLY regenerates (not that regenerating garbage stat on other artifacts). Got a mage that's pelting him with magic? No worries, just stealth and steal life from some lowbies. Bam... full health. Or hell, just stealth, walk to the mages, wipe them out, finish the rest. Got some warriors surrounding you? Doesnt matter, your DPS is twice theirs because you hit 4 times for every 1 of theirs. Oh, and you're leeching the whole time and your hit recovery is insane. Oh and you're constantly buffed with visage of horror (and your army) with an extra buff from amulet of fate.
Most of this is the same with the death warrior lord, and he's further invincible IMO because of his armor. Once again with Soul Stealer he leeches insane amount and literally cannot die, save he's destroyable by mages if they are high leveled enough and focus all at once before real combat starts and he can reach units to leech health back from. The only warrior stronger is MAYBE lancelot wielding the soul stealer but ive yet to put them head to head yet.
Balkoth is invinsible because, well, he's Balkoth obviously. He is fast, can fly (means he can hover other water and other objects and avoid being hit physically at all, he can wipe out the other mages before they can widdle him down, he can steal life (sounds familiar?) and his stats are just insane. With Staff of the Unholy equipped first then his sycthe, his stats are 38 attack 27 def with 22 ranged attack, huge attack rage, spells, stealth, I wont even bother continuing... because well, it's Balkoth. He can also his up the Alter for more massive mana.
The Lich... oh the Lich... Yet another overpowered creature. Insane mana if you start the game with a Cloak of the Vampire, then find another in the game, they will stack mana, defense, etc. and you can STILL wear two items (ie staff of the unholy and another item). Thats is like wearing 4 artifacts! Much less the fact you can hit up the alter again for even more mana, and he has warrior stats and absolutely INSANE defense once you've stacked on two cloaks (its literally in the 40's). And with two Cloaks on you have 75 phys. resists and 75 ranged, and nearly max magic resists. And one of (and I think) the highest defense attainable in the game.
Nearly all of these champions are unstoppable solo, much less if you use three together, much less if you throw in javs, and other infantry who are all being buffed mana free by visage, and whatever else you want to throw on. By the time you took one champion down the other two and units will have destroyed your entire army, yes even life armies with strong mages.
All of this is done legit and within the parameters of the game with no control C needed. I would also like to mention that spawn cave makes this even more unstoppable because you can just stand at a cave and level over and over and over, making you also the fastest faith to level, so these aren't really super high end game stats. The only hard part is finding the proper artifacts in the game.
In total, best artifacts, best everything else = most overpowered faith.
