Good evening, or morning, whatever the case may be when you read this:
Since my second surgery, my finances are more in a bind than they have been before. I've only be able to afford to lose one week of work, even when the doctor suggested I miss two weeks. Even with one week missed, a pretty important week I might add, my finances are in a bind. Even been trying to sell my desktop computer lately to help make up for my short fall.
I have thought of the possibility of restricting access to mods in some fashion or another, but I felt that would only harm its reputation or mine as being a boon for the LOMSE community. So that won't do.
So what I have needed to do now is offer a service to the LOMSE-modding community.
I will create spells, artifacts or cheats specifically catered to your wants or needs. These artifacts, spells or cheats that you desire will be addable to the mod with a few simple steps from the end-user.
So if you wish to hire me, contact me privately through the message board. Here is my fee schedule for services: $3 per spell. $3 per artifact. $3 per cheat created. +$2 fee for complex items (this will typically be determined in advance).
You design it, I create it, you play it to your heart's content.
(Services Limited to GS5R3 mod only)

What would it cost to make a map? I don't know. I didn't even figure to put such a thing. You would really pay someone to make a map? The map editor is pretty simple, even with the goodies I've added to it.

I'm just thinking of a way to help us both out. I appreciate what you do for the community Boaster but I do not use the GSxRx mods. So I tried to think of something I wanted or needed badly enough to justify a decent size donation.
What I would want is pretty labor intensive. As large of a map as the GS5R3 mod can make, sculpted based on a design document for the pen-and-paper RPG I made for Lords of Magic.
What I intend to do with it is fire up the game, take a boatload of in-game screenshots, and line them up with one another to make a massive detailed map. Once I have the map, I was going to make a clickable flash overlay for it. The end goal is to have a very large navigable flash representation of the entire map, complete with a single screen zoomed out map etc etc.
I've been putting it off because of how tedious I know the task will be. So I'm willing to extend the offer to the boards.
I'll also open it up to some of your other board fans that may want to donate to you but not have the spare cash. If someone steps up to do this instead of you (it isn't programming after all) I will donate to your cause on their behalf. That'll be like them donating their time to you instead of money.
Breakdown (donations subject to negotiation, but I think it seems fair)
An acceptable 1028x1028 map based on design docs: $25 (plus $5 for any time I ask for revisions)
Screenshots for the map arranged into a bmp: +$50
Complete Flash overlay: +$75
You could earn $150 or more for Boaster! All it takes is a little time and map making skill. Send me a message before you start working and in case I get multiple offers, I'll send you some of the design docs needed to make the map.

Heheheh. I could just imagine some people being like, "Why would I do that for him? I'd want the money!"
A 1024x1024 map would take tremendous amounts of time. I considered making a map that size once. But you have to consider a 1024x1024 map is literally 64 times the size of a (standard) 128x128 map.
To make one 128x128 map takes a pretty long time (est. 8-16 hours; depending how detailed it is made). To make a 1024x1024 map would take at least triple or quadruple that amount of time.
It would be quite a monumental task for anyone!
Quite frankly, a task this time consuming wouldn't be a possibility for me. I do still work, and I did recently add an additional employer from whom I am producer and production director of a radio ministry.
Again, a task this monumental would take considerable charity, to be doing it on my behalf.

Ok, I'll consider revising the terms.
