hod do i change the option to hire mercenaries and train units back to normal
as soon as i seed a scout through enemy territory the cpu spams mercenaries directly to my capital and there is no way to defend without my own mercenaries

And am I to assume you're using the GS5R3?

Mercenaries can only be generated from buildings at a Level zero capital (Easy and Medium mode may be exceptions) and only from buildings constructed by villages. Mercenary cost is based upon these factors: Level 0 Capital: X0.5 Normal price Level 1 Capital: X1 Normal Price. Level 2 Capital: X1.5 Normal Price. Level 3 Capital: X2 Normal Price. Upkeep of Mercenaries is level based. Ergo a Level 10 Wizard costs 10 Crystals per turn. Upkeep of a Mercenary ship would be -5 Gold and -5 Ale per turn. Mercenaries do not receive experience via training in building in the mod. Mercenaries come with experience which is based upon the current turn number and the Level of the Building. what i am asking is how do i change the GS.mpq file to allow me to hire mercenaries no matter what level my capital is

what i am asking is how do i change the GS.mpq file to allow me to hire mercenaries no matter what level my capital is An MPQ Editor to open/edit MPQ Archives and Notepad to open/edit GS files.

Don't know off hand but it's in several documents. So there's a lot of work involved.
