Here are some new (or I don't know) maps which I recently discovered from the web.archive.org. Be sure that these maps are not made by me. Downloaded from an archived page of MummRa's Lords Of Magic website. Maps: 1. Magic by MummRa 2. balkoth by MummRa 3. onyx by Greenbaron (on the other site it is marked as by Drake) 4. 2nd Urak by MummRa If these maps had been already featured on this forum, please let me know and I will delete the thread. The archive attached. Attachments:

And even more maps, with even 1 Scenario (!) created in the shape of a savegame, like A Call For Heroes and Malice Immortal created by myrddin which have been already mentioned on this forum. Unfortunately, it was possible to download only one scenario of 6, because of the dead links. The maps and quest are taken from Dredd's LOM Page. File List: 8kingdoms.scn by Thorz Barak-Dur.scn by Thorz cataclysm.scn by Roop Dirump Chaos Only.scn by Gandalf The White Enroth.scn by Thorz eosia.scn by Thorz FIRESTAR.scn by Wildezword FIRESTAR2.scn by Wildezword FSTARLIGHT.scn by Wildezword MdlEarth.scn by Thorz Metropolis.scn by Cassidy Mirkwood Forest.scn by Crystal Collaborater, Chief Cartographer of the Court of Chaos Mythgard.scn by Thorz Thorz.scn by Thorz Tregular.scn by Tophermo Tripleee.scn by Quarantine War Grounds.scn by ððGraffixðð Some maps have got their own unique description in .txt files also included in the archive. Sisterly Adventure quest is included, with its own description. It is the Water Quest created for unmodded LOMSE, but I think it is playable in the mod as well. In the mod heroes' artifacts are changed. Thus, The Ring Of Healing is replaced by the Blade Of Swords, and Amulet Of Persuasion with Sharktooth are replaced by Scroll Of Resistance and Scroll Of Dexterity, respectively. Don't know yet if other artifacts are changed as well, I will play further and post it here. Hope this content will interest somebody. Attachments:

Right, this scenario is quite boring without the mod. Opening it in GS5R3 version at least adds many scrolls and other loot to dungeons. It is possibly created by hex-editing, but author didn't even place any special artifacts through all map, except Water Spitter. Nothing special in this quest, pity. Nevertheless, maybe somebody will find the rest of the maps useful.

All of these are made for the unmodded LOMSE. Thus almost all of the encounters are random. However, some maps have got a nice landscape. I encourage somebody, maybe even myself in future, to edit the best of them, place encounters and make properly balanced maps for playing with the GS5 mod.

An interesting map is found at Stories By The InnMates from the members of the 8 Faiths Inn. Though it is a fansite dedicated to LOMSE fanfiction, there is also a map I would like to show you. This one is created for unmodded LOMSE as well, and hex-edited to obtain some new features. There are some new encounter codes for mines, which were not known by me before when I tried to create maps in unmodded LOMSE. Gen Crystal - an encounter name for Crystal Mine; Gen Gold - an encounter name for Gold Mine; Gen Brewery - an encounter name for Brewery. All names are case sensitive. This might prove itself helpful for those who create maps in unmodded LOMSE version and toggle random encounters off. Attachments:

Wow, some of these are extremely well done for unmodded (i.e. limited map size) LOMSE. I particularly like Mirkwood and some of the others. I made a thread at GOG.com a while back, looking for old user-created maps and asking people if they had any. Here are more than I had believed existed. Thanks for finding these gems, excellent pieces of LOMSE history and sweet maps.

I suppose, you should attach your maps to this thread as well to complete the collection, or just let me do that It was a pleasure to find all these signs of an "ancient culture", with a bitter taste of sorrow to know these resources are now gone forever. Some reserved copies of the sites were last updated in 1999.

You are welcome as well Now I post myrddin's archive previously posted by him in my Life quest teaser thread, in case somebody didn't see it, to get a complete map collection. If I find more, I will post it here in the same way. Map creators may post their maps either for unmodded or modded versions here as well. I'm also awaiting admin's approval to the closed World Builders subforum at Urakforums, but it comes to me that despite the site is not deleted/archived, it is dead and buried. Attachments:

I was lurking through LOMSE Graveyard on this forum and I decided to reattach this map originally made by veroslow described by him in his topic in 2009. Just in case somebody is too lazy to seek through all old posts. I think we've got a lot of such users here Attachments:

I started that site back when the majority of the LOM community interacted on the Sierra Message boards just before LOMSE launched. I had almost forgotten about it and now I wish I had! Ha ha ha! P.S. Maps 1, 2, and 4 are TERRIBLE. I can say that too because I made them

Well it is not a secret that all of these sites are actually archived copies, with originals abandoned centuries ago When I was a boy without an access to Internet, I also could not offer a lot of worthy content for LOMSE, and I'm glad all these maps made by me will be never seen by community. Mantera's mod maps are credited to you partially, so don't worry, we know that you're a proven veteran of LOMSE World Building. P.S. Awaiting more masterpieces from ya, if you are still into

Well, maybe they're not on the cutting edge of awesomeness by the standards of what can be done today. Maybe they're not the fine wine that gets better with age ;D, But they are still cool pieces of LOMSE history, as well as the stepping-stones you used to get to where you could make the cool map you just released. So I think it is appropriate that archaeologist Orzie dug them up, as if to say (if nothing else) "These are the maps on which primitive man used to play LOMSE." So maybe nobody will ever play those maps, but that doesn't mean they don't belong in a museum of sorts. Hear, hear

A map collection update. Some of the maps could never be retrieved because of the dead links. R.I.P. Dafyth's LOMSE Website: All of the savegame quests could not be retrieved from this site as well. Selracia by Dafyth best for: Any (8 available) Shannara by Dafyth (the map has 3 variations marked to different authors, and this is the second I found) A nice artwork which I had to rip off from the archive to upload the attachment freelybest for: Any (8 available) Nexxus by Dafyth best for: Any (8 available) England by Dafyth best for: Order (7 available) Ring War by Dafyth best for: Order (6 available) The Clash by Martin best for: Any (8 available) Where gods Tremble by Snowlock best for: Any (8 available) The Border2 by Snowlock best for: Any (8 available) Lands of the Fenris (1st of 3) by Ulfius best for: Chaos (3 available) New Urak by Myrmidon best for: Any (8 available) 2003 by Mumm-Ra best for: Any (8 available) Map Contest window missed by me before at Stories By The InnMates: thegreatriver.scn by Xyanth and two savegame quests from there as well: Dark Shadows by baggins Shannara by ? (this is actually the third version of this map, in the shape of a savegame quest; probably it is made by Dafyth) The quests may draw attention of users, since they are created by hex-editing, with noticeably changed Leader's starting armies, new encounters (from the existing quests) and so on. Have fun! Attachments:

Very cool, I never thought that so many old maps could be recovered. I'll have to check these puppies out. That is pretty good, but probably ripped from another game manual, as it has the line in the center.

I highly recommend Dark Shadows (Death) scenario in GS5R3 for those who seek a mere challenge, because lowered stats for some antagonists are returned to normal. For example, in the beginning you have only Murderer, Dwarven Infantry and Necromancer, all 1st level, against three independent packs of three Rock Trolls, 1/3 hp each, and then 3 packs of Tigers and Ogres. Some starting spells suffered a shift because of the mod.
Shannara, which is Order scenario, works well in GS5R3, but starting artifacts suffered a shift as well. Also, a lot of marauder parties spawn from encounters, you must act quickly to cleanse all of them before the swarms of marauders appear. Shannara's plot is based on Shannara novel series by Terry Brooks.
Both of these scenarios seem to be considerably easier in unmodded game (at least, at start).

A new savegame quest is found. It's not new actually, dating back to 2000, but I doubt anyone here ever played it. Created by hex-editing, this scenario is made for all 8 Faiths, so count it as 8 savegame quests, which is not bad at all. The map is the same, though. I present you Valley of Death by PyroDrew. Taken from Ammy's MMORPGs. The archive also contains a readme file with a load of instructions. Attachments:
