I'm trying to start a LOMSE multiplayer game on my LAN with one other player. We see each other on our computers, but when the would-be "host" trys to "create" a game, nothing really happens. As far as I can tell, no game is created for the other one to join.
Any ideas for us? Thanks in advance for any help!

P.S. We are both playing with Window 7 (which plays LOMSE single player perfectly fine, [By the way]).

Do you use GameRanger game service? Your CPUs seem to be unavailable to host. The same problem was met for us before.
The solution is to try other service. Kali would be the best - it has a 30-day free subscription and can be re-registered many times using multiple emails.

Thanks. I had noticed that this problem was mentioned before but without much description. I hoped my situation would be different, of course. Thanks, again.
Any other ideas would be welcome.

P.S. I am on Game Ranger but I was really hoping for the LAN connection to work. My friend isn't on Game Ranger, though. I will keep the other connection/service in mind, as well.

P.S. I am on Game Ranger but I was really hoping for the LAN connection to work. My friend isn't on Game Ranger, though. I will keep the other connection/service in mind, as well. 64-bit Windows has no LAN option because of compatibility with the IPX/SPX compatible protocol (16-bit). There's no equivalent for 64-bit. 32-bit Windows can utilize it. Wireless connections cannot utilize it, I don't think. If you are presently using GameRanger with any AMD processor, you will not have any success. Both players must be using the GameRanger service otherwise. I.e. one cannot connect through GameRanger while another is using nothing but the LAN protocol. I hope this explains something.

Yes, I understand. Thanks a lot for your help. I'm thinking one of us might have an AMD processor, though. And I knew we would have to get her on Gameranger also if we were to play through them. Thanks again for your attention. It is amazing to even have a site available that is still active and still playing this game. We still find it one of our most replayable games ever. And except for the outdated multiplayer interface, the game still plays perfectly well on newer machines and operating systems.

True enough, LOMSE multiplayer adds a new stream into the game awesomeness, despite it can be played fine only 1v1 because of the long turn times. However, I still would like to try 1v1v1 or even more options in future someday.
I hope you will succeed in setting a game, it's always awesome to know there is someone else loving the game. Especially, when it's a girl ;D
