Pure Michigan...
Here's a nice new map I made. I tried to make it seem like the default map only much larger and grander in size and scope. Hopefully, I succeeded to at least some extent and that someone gets some enjoyment out of it. Still needs dungeons to be placed... if anyone wants to help out with this so that the map can be played on other versions of the game (such as 3.02) I'd be very thankful. You can play it as it stands with random placement if using the most recent release of the GS mod. Thank you Boaster for making the map editor about a trillion times better! You could have been able to attach it to this thread as an attachment, I believe.

You could have been able to attach it to this thread as an attachment, I believe. I could not figure out how. But, then again, I am somewhat of a moron at times...

If you're still wanting some help with manual dungeon placement I would absolutely love the practice. My new job has given me tons of downtime and I've found a certain amount of enjoyment in tinkering with this map editing system.

Yeah, same. With all my work and diploma coming soon I'm really limited in doing something. I remember whole days being spent on learning GameScript by trial and error and all joy after the solution being found. Sweet times.

Attached is mummra's Urak XL Beta map, now with manually placed dungeons. I tried to keep it close to the feel of the map you described, IE a more expansive take on the original single player map. Nothing too fancy, each region receiving a balanced amount of resource generating dungeons but with plenty of other encounters to grind xp in. Hope this is what you were looking for! Tommyg, is that the type of map you were looking for? It looks good. I hope you check your private messages and that I'm not resurrecting this seven year old topic for no reason.

A great find, thanks!
I've had some time to look through the map in detail, it's huge, must have taken Mummra a long time to create. It certainly has that Urak feel and looks epic in scope.
I've been working on fixing some issues with the map and improving it further, firstly there's a clear lack of dungeons, even despite Tempest's manually placed ones. The map is so big there's a lot of empty areas in which there's nothing for the player to interact with. So I'll be populating these areas with a lot more dungeons in my edit.
Also, I've been improving the general look and feel of the terrain to better mimic Urak and increasing the amount of roads connecting areas together. I'm also fixing death's starting area, death's been cut off from the rest of the world, surrounded by cliffs and water except for a small opening. I'm not sure of the reason for this, but I've joined death's area's backup to Fire's, as it appears in standard Urak.
Hopefully, if it's good enough Booster may want to include the map in the GS mod, obviously all credit should go to Mummra. Once completed, this should be a great map to combine with Insane mode difficulty.

It was made this way to make the player feel safer from being rushed by Balkoth. Some players like their games very easy, very smooth, where they have tons of turns to prepare their armies.
