The third map I've created from scratch, and the smallest so far. I wanted to create a more frantic feel to the gameplay, as well as experiment a bit more with dungeon placement. The unique themes of this map are: - Multiple dragon encounters : The large mountain range at the center of the map is home to both the Chaos and Air faiths, but also to a multitude of dragon caves. Much of the map's gold can be found here, which may very well be the in-universe reason why the dragons chose to nest there... - Opposing Faith Fortresses : Each faith has two Level 11 Keeps which hold their strongest artifacts; the first is located inside your territory, the second is in the territory of your mortal enemy... - More Isolated Death Region : In this map, the Death faith is cut off from the rest - save for a narrow entrance near a village and a difficult to traverse mountain path. This is intended to give the Death faith a stronger chance of becoming a juggernaut, as in most single player games I've seen them be eviscerated early on if they lack the Arch Demon Lord (as they almost exclusively seem to in my GSR Mod setup) Combined with shorter distances between faiths and different starting location for many, this map seeks to be an interesting twist on regular gameplay. - Tempest Attachments:Ghondawanaland.scn (227.05 KB)
