LOM is now available on Steam. There's also a bundle where you can get the lords of the realm games as well! I bet you'll be getting hits for the mods here, because it does make it a much better experience. I like the fact that more units are actually useful now! It's not just knight and elven archer spam (as much) anymore.

That's actually huge news, I wonder if this means there'll be steam support for multiplayer?

Time flows, nothing changes.
Still Gameranger and Kali are the only options. I'm curious to see what version is it and if it uses Ascension64's fan patch, but right now I'm too lazy to buy it.

I would say people are better off ordering from the website here. Full retail, not tied down to a game service or have to jump through any crazy hoops to play.

LOM awareness is huge. I was able to gift the game to my buddy with no hassle. I prefer having my CD-ROM though.

The CD is nice, and being able to use the GS5 mod means there will always be an advantage over the Steam version, but I'm holding out hope that if enough interest is garnered it'll get the same treatment AOE and AOM have (in essence, an HD remake with enhanced multiplayer)

There should be no problem with GS5 on the Steam version either.
What may be positive about Steam is that they may not use fan-made content and claim it as theirs. Need to buy and check though.
