Sorry I am unable to post in Mantera's section so I'm posting here. I am extremely new to Lords of Magic. (I played it perhaps a very small amount in 2005 but don't remember it well.) I want to know what Live Autocalc is.

Live Autocalc is basically remaining in combat and the effects of Autocalculate take place. This is useful if you need to summon Undead units from corpses, Resurrect or Reincarnate a fallen friendly unit. You can also take time to Dispell individual units of magical effects, or even take this time to do a Heal/Regenerate spell.
Live Auto-calc always happens in the Multi-Level encounters, except for the final level of the multi-level dungeon.
