Does the built in generator have some sort of intelligence in where it places locations?

And I knew you had already done this! Truly your devotion to this game continues to amaze me [Laugh out Loud]. My friend and I played your mod a few years ago and decided to pick it up again recently. We were surprised to see even more work done!
Is there the ability to add extra capital buildings or watchtowers? What do you suggest is the best map size for all 8 players?

8 players, at least 128x128 which is standard. Although, you should know that games with more than 4 human players won't work. I tried more than four once, and it didn't work.
The RMG creates 8 regions with terrains friendly to each faith.
You can add the buildings as sprites or as dungeons, but not extra functioning cities.

I may sound dumb but as far as I can guess, LoMSE has only one map, i.e. Urak itself, that is preset and it's the same every time a new game starts, with the same every Faith locations, starting units (depending on one's Lord choice) etc., am I right?

From the main menu screen, you select button on right hand side that says "Custom Map."

No, I'm taking about Urak itself. So Urak is just like scenario, with preset map, is it? If so, it's a pity that Urak map is not randomizeable.

I thought once upon a time, in the original LOM that this map did get randomized. Or maybe it was switched out in a patch, then later switched back. I have attempted to randomize the Lords of Magic default map, but to no avail.

I've just run dozens of tests on both GS5 and 3.02 versions of the game and the map is exactly the same every time. If you go to the list of custom maps you can see there're indeed two Urak maps. Their names are URAK.scn and URAKpartII.scn. It's weird because I also thought it got randomized in between both. Good new: you can totally bypass the problem by launching the game from the custom maps and sometimes choosing URAK.scn, sometimes URAKpartII.scn. The differences are not huge though, just variation of great temples placements, and minor road and doodads changes. If you want to play custom maps you can always play the 53 maps from this topic : impz.proboards.com/thread/2099/lomse-maps-discovered-updated-total Or you could just make new maps. I'm also interested in creating maps soon, so if you have any specific style of map you'd wish to see you can ask me. One thing I did as a teenager was creating 8 different Uraks with minor differences each time so I could always play a game with nicely placed dungeons, villages, temples and cities without imbalance or bugs, but every time a bit different. Those maps are long lost though... I might do this again some day.
