Hello, I am new but I'd like to play Lomse on my windows 7 computer. I have tried everything to no avail. I have the original version 3.0 CD big box that I used to install the game. It installed just fine without issue but whenever I try to launch it just doesn't do anything. I have tried:
Updating to june 2010 direct x
using every compatibility mode
using run as administrator
disabling everything
running in 640x480
running in 256 color mode
I have also tried:
Installing unofficial 3.02 patch
installing latest GZ mod
nothing gets this game to launch, nothing. I have also looked for legacy devices in my windows features and they are not there as some suggested, but I am win7 so I doubt directplay would be there anyways.
I've tried everything, i'm about to give up, pls send help.

Turn off compatability settings. No 640/480, no 256 colors, no OS.
What version of Windows 7? Home? Pro? Ultimate? Laptop, or desktop?

windows 7 ultimate. I have tried it with all compatibility off after applying GZ patch, still not launching.
Edit: oh sorry it's a desktop.

in just about every setting it just never starts. there is no error code, nothing is running, it just goes black screen for a bit, then back to normal. I am playing on windows 7 64 but i don't think that should make a difference.
I've tried it in every compatibility, every setting i could think of, i've tried renaming files and putting them back, I've applied patches nothing changes, and applied the mod nothing changes. even tried using dosbox (doesn't actually work there) but figured i'd try.

It sounds to me like the EXE file is launching, but it doesn't seem to be loading any content.
Try to manually copy the files from the CD to your LOMSE install directory.
Then give it another go.

alright, this will put it back to version 3.00 and remove the mods, is this ok?
Edit: I copied everything over from the CD to the directory, replacing everything. Same thing. Removed all compatibility and whatnot, same issue, it just flickers black for a bit then nothing.
