Hey, I guess this is mainly just for Boaster as the only one who would know - so I notice that in GS5 there are "extra" units, really repurposed unused units from the original game, like the lildr (life leader) turned into the elven prince, orc warlords and such (repurposed from the orcr3old and similar units). I'm trying to do something similar with GSZ with a bit of a different twist, but I can't seem to make fully "viable" new units. For example, I turned the GS0 unused lildr into a single barbarian berserker champion, and edited one of the quests such that this new champion was to be added to the player's party as a spoil for one of the encounters. However, the unit never appears, whereas setting the spoil to any other champion that was normally in the game works fine. It also doesn't let me enter encounters that have that unit as part of the army. The only file I modded was the relevant file under gs/units/lildr. Is there another file I need to change to make the "new" units fully playable?

Is there another file I need to change to make the "new" units fully playable? I'm not 100% certain as to what you mean, however, I think you're wanting to add new units to the game. My suggestion is, to add new unit data files and modify specific to the faith of that unit. For example, you want to add a Berserker Champion? Make a file called CHLDR, or CHLD1, CHLD2. Modify all references to this champion to the same as the file name (i.e. CHLDR). Also, create Level Ups unique to this faith-code type, unless you'll use the generic ones for WARRIOR THIEF or WIZARD classes. Don't create a life leader and then set it up as a Chaos unit, there will be trouble.

Yeah, that's what I'm going for. So it looks like outside of the unit file, you have to add the filename of the new unit to the unittype.gs file, and then it's good to go. That's what I was missing. As for mixing and matching, there remain some experiments to do, but I've come up with a couple interesting and apparently viable hybrid units, at least as far as mounts. I modified my life warrior lord to ride the bengal tiger and my water warrior lord to ride order paladin lord's barded warhorse but when I tried to change to the siberian tiger for my life warrior lord or champion or have my life cavalry ride armored warhorses they appear to be riding on air. I also tried the pegasus out with the life warror lord with the same riding on air result.
