Hello, guess I'm making the first new year post (or so I assume) about an error I've been getting since yesterday. So I recently came back to LOMSE and GS5R3 and updated both the GS and PIC (though it looks like I didn't need to update the last one). I started a new game on hard on a custom map with Death and everything was going well until I tried to do some Tower. Everytime I try to do it before the fight end the game CTD with no error message. I've tried to locate the source of the problem myself, I first thought the death shade death scream crashed it but it wasn't that, and ever since I've been unable to think of anything. It's the first time in a decade LOMSE crashes on me so I'm really confused. And yeah, It's just this fight, so far the game and mod have been working really damn well so I have no idea what's happening. I'm gonna post the save and would like if someone tell me if the same thing happens to them or if it's a problem related to my machine (ever since I've upgraded to windows 10 I've had a lot of issues making LOMSE works). Awesome mod by the way Mantera, been playing it for a very long time now.

What version are you using?
Edit: I was able to complete combat, and went to the world view without a crash.

The very latest one from the OP, the one from a few weeks ago, at least I believe, I've tried the same fight with another version I had from before and it still crashes in exactly the same way. I could try redownloading it, I might have gotten a wrong link in the OP but I don't think that's gonna fix it.

Version 3.02.3208... I think I've read somewhere that wasn't the latest build though. I must have gotten a wrong link, tho I got the one from the OP after rechecking, the one that says "Primary Download Location"

Do this, in this order please.
Start the game, load your Save, play the combat out.
When the game crashes to the desktop, then do this...
Go into your windows temporary files folder (do Windows Key + R to RUN and type in %temp%).
Find the file named LOMGSOUT.TMP.
Send me that file.

playvideo : ERROR -> SF_playvideo "attacker army locs a1= 1912 ,a2= 1707 ,a3= 1379 " "defender army locs a1= 538 ,a2= 552 ,a3= 544 " "flee_location= 1206 " "ENTERED COMBAT (ENTER_COMBAT_CALLBACK via GAMEUTIL.GS)" "Sands of Sleep viability check on target Lich = 16 " "Slow viability check on target Lich = 0 " "Rocksling viability check on target Lich = 125 "
Nothing in here indicates a crashed caused internally by the game.
My only suggestion at this point is to perhaps do a fresh FULL install of the game (not with demos), fresh mod install, and try again.
If this doesn't help, it may be a Windows 10 issue?
I am running Windows XP.
Are you running LOMSE under any compatibility settings?

Also damn, I did think it didn't actually have anything to do with the mod but rather the game by itself. I'll try what you said and give it another shot. Thank you for your time.

I've found the issue. as Lords of Magic was running kind of sluggy on my machine I was using the DirectDraw libraries from wine 3d to emulate it (as explained in this thread). Running the game without gets rid of the crash. But now the game's sluggy again.. Oh well. Thought I would at least give an update if someone had a similar issue. Hopefully there's someway I can find to run this decently, that actually works.

Thought I would give another update to this thread ; To my pleasure I have finally found a way to make the game runs perfectly! I'm really happy I can now play this exactly as smooth as I could before. Long story short I screwed around DxWnd like I always would and got a modified exe (apparently) from this thread (second post), turned on expert mode in DxWnd to have more selectable options, screwed around a bit with the options and finally got a flawless working game. So you could say my issue is definitely solved. I'm posting my DxWnd config file here if anyone's interested, feel free to screw around as I did if things aren't working out for you.
