The following below shows steps that can be taken to play a Lord of one faith as the Leader of a different faith. In this example, we'll show an Elven Patriarch as Leader of Water. Select the Class and Faith you want to actually play. Life Warrior will be chosen, to play in place of a Water Wizard. Selected a Custom Saved game that has the Water Wizard Lord as leader, preferably saved on the same difficulty. If you do not have a Custom Saved Game already created, you will need to take extra steps to create one. If so, go back and select Wizard for class, then Water, then select the difficulty you wish to play, go into the Lord Editor and just save it as "WALDW.ldr" file name. Now, go back and get up to this point with the Life Warrior. Exit the Lord Editor, then re-enter it after loading saved game of other faith. Now, your Life Warlord will have a water selection color. Load up your starting army as you normally would. Observe that you are now starting as the Life Warlord, Lord of Water. If you wish to do this, one might consider it important to pick a Faith/Class combo that would yield a usable Legendary Artifact. Life Warrior goes well in place of many Wizard Lords for his ability to wield staffs. Other cross-faith combos would be Dwarven Warlord of Chaos, or Beast Lord of Earth. Or perhaps a Paladin of Death, Executioner of Order, or Amazon Princess of Death.

The easiest way to do so is to simply start a new game, select the class and faith, and when the game starts just open console (Ctrl+C) and type Scroll of Faith. It will appear in inventory of your leader, simply equip it and have fun. But maybe you'll need to try it several times because it works randomly

But this way also works in an unmodded game.

Thanks for the reminder of those tricks guys! I think this game has an incredible depth once you get passed the old graphics and game-play mechanics. You can play campaigns, play on Urak, do custom starts, play on other maps, play the mod, play as an alternate lord like you said, play without last saves like I do, and then you can also do mapping or modding... I think I'll never get bored!
