Greetings.
Please, enlighten me what are the main features of GSZ and GS5 mods, and what are the differences between them. Are they necessary for single-playing LoMSE today? I'm kinda new to this game, so won't it better to play it vanilla first?
Thanks.

GSZ expands interface options, and keeps unit/artifact/spell changes to an absolute minimum. Pegasus issue in low level Chaos encounters addressed, adds some hotkeys.
GS5 does all of that, but does major revisions to units, spells and artifacts. GS5 also requires added graphics from the PIC5R3, which replaces the existing 'pic.mpq'.

Thanks for clarification.
So as I could guess, the better option for a newbie would be using GSZ, right?

Thanks for clarification. So as I could guess, the better option for a newbie would be using GSZ, right? It's whatever you want. GSZ is for those who want as close to classic as possible with necessary fixes. GS5 is for those who want an expanded game that some may considered more balanced.
