So I wanted to create 3D models of the Great Temples of Urak, and make them as high quality as I possibly could, my aim was to see how they'd look if a big triple A studio was creating a remake (Wishful thinking I know [Laugh out Loud]).
I've tried to capture the feel and atmosphere of each faith, and added in my own details where I thought they were missing, or even straight up changed some bits completely. The 2D sprites I’ve taken inspiration from are so tiny and the in game renders are in my opinion lacking detail, despite looking good for 1997, I wanted to bring them into 2023.
These are high poly models with 2k textures, designed for use to create a 2D render for the UI (The screen when you open up the Great Temple menu). They would need to be heavily optimized for use on a 3D world map of Urak.
The Fire and Order ones haven't been finished yet, will post those when they're ready.
Hope people enjoy these!

Stunning work, very professional! If I remember right when you click the Water Great Temple the menu picture has some mists and subtle rainbow coloring which I think make it look more 'magical' for lack of a better word. Perhaps such an effect would improve your model as IMO the Water Great Temple looks relatively plain.
Thanks for the feedback! You're right, they could all do with some atmospheric effects for sure, I took these renders on Substance Painter, and there's no option for adding clouds or particle effects. When I import them to Unreal5 I'm planning on adding the effects then, I just wanted to show off the models for what they are (The sparkle on the Air Temple is only there because Substance Painter allows use of glare effects!). It's easy to go overboard with the particles and effects, and before you know it the model looks like it belongs in World Of Warcraft, but some subtle effects are definitely needed to bring the models to life.
Water is extremely hard to get right in Substance painter, again I'm hoping this will look better in UE5 where I can add some water effects. I don't know if you noticed, but the water temple is a mix of the Water watch tower design from in game and the original water temple, I mixed the two together as I thought the original design was a bit lackluster, and I liked the pearl effect on the Watchtower.

Definitely nice, and definitely better than I could do.

This is really well-done!
I especially like the Death great temple here.
Something that stood out to me (and I don't recall the original models) - is there a door or entryway for the Life/Earth great temples?
If you're open to it, I'd like to use these as a reference (am running a DnD game set in Urak)!

The death Temple is probably the one thats closest to the original in design, I added the stairs and doors so theres a way for the worshipers to bring up all those poor sacrifices for whatever dark ritual they have going on there.
There's no entrance on the original Earth and Life Temples, but I could experiment with how it looks. I was thinking of adding some man-made like structures to the life tree, like stairs and windows, but I didn't want it to look too similar to the elven structures from LOTR.
Of course, yes you can use the images for your DnD games!

These are absolutely gorgeous! I'm recreating LoMSE and just switched to Unreal 5. I would love these to be part of the build with full credits to you of course. Do you have a sketchfab account? It's a site let's you sell 3D assets -These would be great for tabletop rpgs or board games. It would be so cool to 3D print these! They look awesome and you can see the time and effort out into them

Yes they definitely can take a long time to make, it's mainly the hand sculpting that takes a long time, but designing buildings is so much faster than creating units, so these didn't take too long thankfully. I don't have a Sketchfab account no, but I have used that site before, I don't have any intention of selling them as that wasn't my plan for designing them, I wonder whether their appeal for RPG RPers would be quite niche as they are based on Lords of Magic temples, so not sure how popular they’d be to be honest. But I'm so glad you like them, and thanks for the kind words!
