An interesting thing to think of in the next game are good and evil versions of faiths. Though some sound a bit ironic (Good Chaos, Evil Life) something can be done in this regard towards faiths.
Foir instance, we have our 8 current faiths
Evil: Chaos, Fire, and Death.
Good: Wind, Life, and Order
Neutral-ish: Earth and Water
I call Earth and Water neutral because in game they don't give me a feel of good or bad. Nevermind the fact these faiths only have one ally each (life and death to their leaned towards alliance) and a neutrality of the opposite alignment (Order and Chaos).
So what exactly could our faiths be?
Well...
Order: Good - Archons/Camelot
Bad - Greeks/Romans
Chaos: Bad - Barbarians and Assorted barbaric races: Ogres, Orcs and Goblins
Good - Mechanics and Science headed mostly by Gnomes and with some Humans and Goblins
Water: 'Good' - Amazons and Lizardmen
'Bad' - Fishmen, Sirens and Nagas
Earth: 'Good' - Slyvan Wood Elves, Hill Giants and Druids
'Bad' - Little Peoples: Gnomes, Halflings and Dwarves. Stoine Giants are there.
Fire: Good - Egyptians and Anubite Gnolls
Bad - Fire Giants and Fire Dwarves
Life: Good - High Elves and Dryads
Bad - Spirits and Callers
Air: Bad - Frost Giants and Ice Trolls
Good - Storm Giants and Faeries
Death: Bad - Golgothan Dark Elves and the Undead
Good - Half Elven Mongoloids called the Painbearers: Yea, chew on that one for a bit! The idea here is that they seek to bring death to end Life's Suffering, but not to revel in bringing suffering to the dead.
As you can see, this is a very vague idea. Still, who doesn't want a civ with Chariot Archers and Camels or Hoplites and Roman Legions. Who doesn't want Druids?
The question here is, how would this all work?
