In the most recent GS5 Beta update, there has been a significant change to Thieves in combat. Unlike before, Thieves will not recieve an armor penalty while in stealth mode. But why?
First, I will explain the change. If you have a thief with 12 armor and is hit by a projectile while in Stealth Mode, his armor is 50% as affective. This translate into the Thief effectively having 6 armor points while he or she is stealthed.
Stealth mode = Armor / 2
Secondly, I will give my explaination. Thieves are extremely powerful alone. They are free to hide and unhide as they please, allowing for easy attacks and easy kills. If a Thief is revealed while in Stealth mode, the other army has a slight chance to score a hit with missiles. So Thieves who are careless should get punished.
Finally, I will tell you my original plan. My original plan was to have Stealthed Thieves effectively have no armor at all. So be happy that isn't true.
