Hmm, it may not work if you use a different version than the original US version of LoM:SE. Just a guess because I think that some people have found their way from all over the world here (  ) . There always are language errors and new code errors (created by those who messed with the original "official" Sierra foreign languages updates when they opened the true english fiels for translation etc). I can tell for sure because that´s the case with the german version.  |

Hey Mant, me again haha found the right thread now. Umm just to let you know, I downloaded the game LOMSE from this website with the CD check. Me and my bro followed the instructions and installed the protocol thing in the LAN settings in the control pannel... The only problem is we go to create a game and it wont create one...the name doesnt come up on a list and not even the host computer can get into a game, we also tried direct cable and only the host computer can create a game... Is there anything we can do? (The create join and cancel buttons are all visable they just dont do anythign when you click em.)  Many thanks Brads- |

I'm pretty dumb when it comes to computers, but me and my dad have been trying to play together for a while, i have a laptop and he has a tower, how does this "direct connect" work (we have vista)? also my older brother has a cpu in the basement with XP, so if there is a way to connect that too, what is it?
Please use step by step directions, like i said, I'm kinda dumb when it comes to computers.…
OH, and by the way, idk if this is a given or not, but we DO have wireless internet...

Aside from everything here about local connections (but still pertinent to multiplayer connecting), Gameranger now hosts LOMSE. Disclaimer: i've never played LOMSE multiplayer and am just looking into it now, so i consider this tentative information at best. also, i did not actually play on Gameranger but i made an account (free, refreshingly simple), launched it, and blatantly in the top right corner are the options "Host" and "Join". i hit "Host" which brought down a tiny menu with all the compatible-with-Gameranger games i have (LOMSE and one other), selected LOMSE, and was immediately inserted into the list of 'hosts' waiting for people to tag in. Surprisingly, 2 people messaged me through the system to ask if they could join (i had placed a password on my hosted game, otherwise i think they could just enter freely) within 5 minutes. i denied them because i didn't have the time, but... Gameranger *appeared* to have all the symptoms of a successful host site for LOMSE multiplayer. my appologies that i didn't actually confirm this fully, but perhaps some other brave soul will do that for us instead (( i'm too chicken to have my first LOMSE multiplayer experience with a stranger  )) |

Hey guys not sure if someone could help me out with this BUT for some reason i CAN NOT play multiplayer with the GS mod BUT without the mod i can. (had to do IPX protocol thingy for unmodded to work)
….issue me and my bro are getting with mod.
--both of us CAN create a game BUT the other person can see it on the list for the Mod (unmodded its fine)
guess my question is:
CAN 1 play multiplayer with the mod?
if so any suggestions for me on how to get it to work?? (love the mod too much =)
PS: i searched the forums before post didnt find an answer =(

I have been able to successfully host and join GS5R2 mod games in the past, though there is an existing issue when doing a resync. During the resync the "failed to load map" error will come up and the game will have to be shut down. |

theres alot of pictures missing 4 us 2. my guess is the last mods pic mpq doesnt work with new update?
ps old version works fine 4 single player though. just have ^that multi player prob.

I've actually played a short game on Kali with that very update. The other player's game showed up in the list.
